Parkinson's Podcast
The Parkinson's Institute and Clinical Center is seeking a talented producer to create two promotional pieces for the center, located in Sunnyvale, Calif. We're a nonprofit independent center whose mission is to find the causes, provide first-class patient care and discover a cure for Parkinson's disease.  At our onsite clinic, patients receive compassionate, state-of-the-art care by specially trained neurologists. Some of our patients take part in promising new clinical trials we offer.  We also have onsite physical and speech therapy. We will pay $1,500 for the following two works: * A 3- to 4-minute video montage telling the story of the Parkinson's center through video interviews that you conduct with the CEO, executive director, doctors, patients and staff. We will identify the people for you to interview and provide access for you. There are lots of compelling stories for you to draw upon. From those interviews you will weave together the center's story, working with us to devise a rough script and to get our signoff of the content at the final draft stage. We want the video to trigger a call to action for viewers to donate to the center. * A 3-minute digital story composed of images and narration, telling the story of one of the patients at the Parkinson's Institute. The digital story will consist of photos of the patient throughout his or her life, an audio and/or video interview of the patient, and an interview with his or her physician. The story will be told as a first-person narration from the patient's POV, and the producer will sit down with the patient, her family and her doctor to develop and write a short script. The story will end with information about the center and how to support it and become a patient. The videos should be optimized for online distribution in the Flash (.flv) format. We would like the shooting completed by early October and the videos completed by the end of October. Payment of $750 per video will be made immediately after delivery of each completed video. You will supply your own equipment for shooting and editing. Please let us know what software you plan to use and provide examples of your past work. Project due date: Oct. 30, 2008
